Job Description
OBJECTIVE: The Purchasing Associate (Operations) will support the procurement of goods, services, and works across Genser Energy’s business units, including Power Generation, Natural Gas Pipelines, and Midstream operations. This role is responsible for assisting throughout the entire procurement lifecycle—covering sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, order management, and vendor coordination. The Purchasing Associate will be instrumental in ensuring that all procurement activities are timely, cost-effective, and compliant with Genser’s operational and procurement standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with Operations teams to understand material specifications and procurement requirements.
• Assist in sourcing reliable suppliers for technical materials, including mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment.
• Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for project-related purchases.
• Review and evaluate supplier quotations based on price, quality, lead time, and adherence to technical specifications.
• Support negotiation of pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery in accordance with project timelines.
• Maintain procurement logs, cost-tracking reports, and material requisition records.
• Track supplier performance using metrics such as quality, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and pricing consistency.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve delays, non-conformities, or discrepancies in deliveries.
• Support supplier evaluations and participate in performance review meetings.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, supplier agreements, and service-level agreements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Process Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders in the company ERP (Sage X3), ensuring alignment with approvals and budget limits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain is mandatory.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience in multicultural environments and international procurement (Asia, Europe, U.S.) is mandatory.
• Proficiency in French or Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 4+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proven experience in procurement of engineering equipment and materials.
• Strong negotiation, strong planning skills, supplier relation management skills and supplier evaluation skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3) and procurement best practices.
