VACANCY – DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
The Digital and Technology Officer plays a key role in driving the development and maintenance of innovative digital solutions to support the Institute’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Head, Digital and Technology Department, the officer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Laravel-based applications that are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.
In addition to software development, the officer is expected to document processes, follow best practices in coding and system architecture, and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. The role also extends to providing technical support across IT and information systems, ensuring operational efficiency, and contributing to the successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
DUTIES
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and maintain Laravel-based applications.
– Write, test, and debug efficient and scalable code.
– Work with PHP, JavaScript (Vue.js, React), HTML, CSS, and relevant frameworks.
– Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
– Manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
– Optimize code for performance, security, and maintainability.
– Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to meet project requirements.
– Troubleshoot and resolve software bugs or issues.
– Document software development processes and best practices.
– Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
– Assist with other IT and information system-related activities as needed.
Education / Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
– At least 2 years of experience in Laravel and full-stack development with any other programming language.
– Experience with mobile app development (Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
– Certifications in Laravel, AWS, or other relevant technologies are an advantage.
– ACIB Qualification is preferred.
Competencies and Skills:
– Strong experience with Laravel (PHP Framework).
– Proficiency in JavaScript (Vue.js, React, or Angular).
– Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS.
– Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
– Familiarity with RESTful APIs & JSON.
– Understanding of Git/GitHub for version control.
– Knowledge of server management & deployment (AWS, DigitalOcean, cPanel, Docker).
– Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Good communication and documentation skills.
