About the Job
To lead the category management team in developing and executing trade strategies and build programs within the portfolio of categories/brands they manage in order to increase company sales and maximize profitability through efficient spending within these categories/brands.
Responsibilities
Team Management
– Organizes and staffs the brand management team with adequate resources and talent to achieve organizational excellence.
– Provides the team with training, coaching, and mentoring to develop brand management skills and ensure continuity and career paths.
Suppliers Collaboration
– Builds and maintains strong supplier relationships through reviews and communication.
– Manages A&P budgets through supplier negotiations on terms, pricing, and activities via joint business plans.
Brand Management
– Oversees the development and execution of joint business plans for assigned brands.
– Ensures proper allocation and spending of A&P funds to maintain profitability.
– Supervises forecasting processes to maintain optimal stock levels.
– Approves in-store and POS marketing materials to support brand image.
– Analyzes sales data and market share by channel to guide marketing decisions.
Communication with the Sales Team
– Leads monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with sales leaders.
– Makes frequent field visits and gives feedback to sales managers on execution.
– Ensures sales teams have brand knowledge and tools for market delivery.
– Understands customer plans and aligns brand strategies to support them.
Category & Shopper Understanding
– Tracks category dynamics through market visits and field data.
– Observes shopper behavior and trends to inform marketing activities.
TM Purpose
– Demonstrates the company’s purpose and values through daily actions.
Qualifications
Academic Education & Certification
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing from a recognized university.
– MBA is a plus.
Experience
– 3 to 4 years of experience in brand management or a sales managerial role.
– 2 to 3 years of sales experience is required.
– FMCG industry experience is a must.
